Capstone Seeks Applicants for $2,500 College Scholarships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Jan. 9, 2012 – Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is accepting college scholarship applications now through March 1, 2012. The Capstone Community Scholarship Program offers up to eight scholarship awards in the amount of $2,500 each to qualified applicants.

Among the eligibility requirements includes a full-time status as an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university in Minnesota or Illinois. Students majoring in the following areas of study, who also meet additional requirements, are invited to apply:

• Elementary/Primary Education
• English
• English as a Second Language
• English Language Learners
• Graphic Design
• Library Science
• Preschool Education
• Publishing

Evelyn Lenander Education Scholarship

To qualify for a $1,000 to $3,500 scholarship, a student must have completed two full years of college credits with a minimum 3.0 GPA and have been accepted in a program leading to a degree in elementary education. Preference is given to students having permanent residence within a 25 mile radius of Buffalo Lake and then eligibility will be expanded to include other students from Central Minnesota. Demonstrated financial need is not a requirement, but consideration will be given to the student's need.

The application deadline is May 15th.

2012 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) is sending this e-mail to remind you about the Scholarship Program for baccalaureate or higher degree nursing and anesthesia students. In 2012, ANCA will be selecting up to 15 students to receive $3,000 scholarships.

To be eligible, applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

>Nursing or anesthesia students who plan to enter a component of the US Army and are enrolled in a program not funded by a component of the US Army.

>Nursing or anesthesia students who have previously served in a component of the US Army.

>Army Nurse Corps officers in a component of the US Army enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate nursing or nurse anesthesia program not funded by a component of the US Army.

>Army enlisted soldiers in a component of the US Army enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing program not funded by a component of the US Army.

>Nursing or anesthesia students whose parent(s), spouse and/or children are or have served in a

component of the US Army.

For 2012, the scholarship program is named in memory of Captain Joshua M. McClimans, a member of the United States Army Reserve who, in April 2011, gave his life for his country during his deployment to Afghanistan. He was a native of Jamestown, PA and a graduate of the University of Akron School of Nursing in Ohio.
